Paste directly
Copy the signature from Zeyl and paste it straight into the preview area. Passing it through a text editor first can break the formatting.
Mail on Mac supports formatted signatures, but one small setting makes a big difference when you paste. On iPhone and iPad, the signature is text only. Here is how to handle both.
Design your signature in the Zeyl signature studio, then copy it and paste it into Mail. The app also includes step-by-step instructions for each email program.
If your team is on Microsoft 365 and sends from an Exchange account in Mail on Mac or iPhone, you can skip these steps: Zeyl adds the signature on the server to every email. On Google Workspace, Zeyl writes the signature into everyone's Gmail signature setting.
When your signature is ready in Zeyl, click "Use signature".
Choose "Yourself" to add the signature to your own Mail app.
Copy the signature. A copied signature is static, so you need to copy it again when the design or banner changes.
These steps are for current versions of macOS. Older versions say Preferences instead of Settings.
In Mail, choose Mail > Settings from the menu bar, then click Signatures.
In the left column, select the email account that will use the signature. If you create a signature while All Signatures is selected, drag it onto an account before you can use it.
Click the Add (+) button below the middle column and name the signature. The name appears in the Signature menu when you write a message.
Deselect Always match my default message font. If it stays checked, Mail replaces your signature's font with its own default message font.
Click in the preview area in the right column, delete the placeholder text and paste the signature you copied from Zeyl. It is saved when you close the window.
With the account selected, use the Choose Signature menu to pick the signature Mail adds automatically for that account.
Copy the signature from Zeyl and paste it straight into the preview area. Passing it through a text editor first can break the formatting.
Images may not show right away in the preview area. Open a new message and pick the signature from the Signature menu to see how it really looks.
Editing text in the preview after pasting can break the layout. If something needs to change, change it in Zeyl and paste the signature again.
Open a free account; connect Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace for your team.
According to Apple, Mail signatures on iPhone can only use text. Don't expect a signature with a logo, colors or layout to look the same on the phone; a short text signature with your name, title and phone number is the safest choice. The steps on iPad are similar.
Open the Settings app, tap Apps, then tap Mail.
Tap Signature, below Composing.
Tap the text field, delete the default text and type your signature. If you have more than one account, tap Per Account to set a different signature for each.
If the recipient blocks images, your logo shows as an empty box until they allow it. If the image is missing on your Mac, delete the signature and paste it again.
If the font changed, deselect Always match my default message font. If the message is in plain text, switch to rich text from the Format menu.
Make sure a signature is selected in the Choose Signature menu for the account. Where it appears depends on the Place signature above quoted text setting.
Mail can change colors in dark mode, which can make dark logos on transparent backgrounds hard to see. Check your signature in both modes with the day and night preview in the Zeyl studio.
No. The signature in Mail on iPhone and iPad is set separately and is text only. If you want a formatted signature on phones too, a server-side signature for Microsoft 365 is the most reliable way.
When it is checked, Mail changes your signature's font to the default message font from its settings. Deselect it to keep the fonts from your design.
Yes. On Mac, select the account in the left column, add a signature to it and set the default with Choose Signature. On iPhone, use Per Account.
The preview area may not show the signature exactly. Open a new message, choose the signature and send yourself a test email; what the recipient sees also depends on their app and image settings.
No, a copied signature is static. If you change the design or the banner, copy the signature again and paste it into Mail.
Not on Microsoft 365. Because Zeyl adds the signature on the server, every Exchange email sent from Mail, Outlook or a phone gets it, and nobody has to change any settings.
It is probably sitting under All Signatures without being attached to an account. Drag it onto the account in the left column, then make it the default with Choose Signature.
Design it in minutes, publish it to your team.
