Images don't show
If the recipient's app blocks images, your logo shows as an empty box until they allow it. If the image is missing in the signature box itself, copy and paste the signature again.
In Gmail you set your signature once on a computer, while the phone app keeps its own text-only signature. This guide covers both, step by step.
Design your signature in the Zeyl signature studio, then copy it and paste it into Gmail. The app also includes step-by-step instructions for each email program.
If your team uses Google Workspace, you don't need any of this: Zeyl writes the signature into everyone's Gmail signature setting through the API and adds new employees as they join. On Microsoft 365, Zeyl adds the signature on the server to every email.
When your signature is ready in Zeyl, click "Use signature".
Choose "Yourself" to add the signature to your own Gmail account.
Copy the signature. A copied signature is static, so if the design or banner changes you need to copy and paste it again.
A signature you add on a computer applies wherever you use Gmail in the browser. It can be up to 10,000 characters, and images count toward that limit.
In Gmail, click Settings at the top right, then See all settings.
On the General tab, scroll down to the Signature section. If you don't have a signature yet, create a new one and give it a name.
Paste the signature you copied from Zeyl into the signature box. Your logo and layout should appear in the box.
Click Save Changes at the very bottom of the page. If you skip this, the signature is lost.
Gmail can hold several signatures, so you can use one for first emails and a shorter one for replies.
In the Signature section, create a new signature, name it and paste its content. You can rename it later with Edit.
In the default settings below the signature box, choose which signature to use for new emails and for replies and forwards, then click Save Changes.
While composing, click Insert signature (the pen icon) at the bottom of the window to switch to another signature.
Open a free account; connect Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace for your team.
The mobile signature is used only for emails you send from the app, and it is plain text: no logo, colors or layout. If you don't create a mobile signature, Gmail uses the signature you set up on your computer.
In the Gmail app, tap Menu at the top left, scroll to the bottom and tap Settings.
Tap the Google Account you want to add a signature to.
Tap Mobile signature, type your signature and tap OK.
On iPhone the mobile signature is also plain text, and you set it separately for each account.
Tap Menu, then Settings. Under Compose and Reply, tap Signature settings.
Turn on Mobile Signature and type your signature.
Tap Back to save the signature.
If the recipient's app blocks images, your logo shows as an empty box until they allow it. If the image is missing in the signature box itself, copy and paste the signature again.
Paste straight from Zeyl into the signature box rather than through a document or notes app. Writing in plain text mode strips formatting, so turn plain text mode off in the compose window options.
There may be no default set for replies and forwards. Gmail can also hide the signature together with the quoted text behind the three-dot icon in replies; click it to show it.
The Gmail app can change colors in dark mode, which can make dark logos on transparent backgrounds hard to see. Check your signature in both modes with the day and night preview in the Zeyl studio.
Gmail supports multiple signatures. You can set separate defaults for new emails and replies and switch signatures while writing with Insert signature.
The mobile signature in the Gmail app is plain text. If you leave the mobile signature empty, the app uses the signature from your computer, which is the better way to keep your logo.
If you haven't created a mobile signature in the app, yes: new messages use the signature from your computer. If a mobile signature is turned on, it is used instead.
Yes. A Gmail signature can be up to 10,000 characters, and images count toward the limit. If you get an error, make the image smaller.
On Google Workspace, Zeyl writes the signature into each person's Gmail signature setting through the API. The directory syncs every hour, and new people with a license get their signature automatically.
No, a copied signature is static. When you change the design or the banner, copy the signature again and paste it into Gmail.
Yes. For each address you added with Send mail as, pick a separate signature from the drop-down above the signature box.
You can add a banner to your signature in Zeyl and copy them together; the banner arrives in Gmail's signature box as an image. A copied banner is fixed, so paste the signature again when the campaign changes.
Design it in minutes, publish it to your team.
